We reported earlier that Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the facelifted version of the Ciaz soon, the variants of the sedan have now been revealed. The sedan will be the fourth model in Maruti's premium car line up to be sold solely at Nexa dealerships. It has received a list of updates at the exterior and interior. Images of the variant description describing the variants and other details have made their way on the Internet before the launch. The new Ciaz will be sold in five variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, and a new variant S (Sport).
The new Ciaz will be offered with a manual transmission for all five petrol and diesel trims, while automatic transmission will be available in petrol trims of three variants - Delta, Zeta and Alpha. In addition, the 2017 Ciaz will also have a variant aimed at the commercial vehicle segment.
Under the bonnet, the 2017 Ciaz will not receive any changes, and will be powered by a 1.4 litre petrol engine that produces 91 hp of power and 130 Nm of torque. The diesel engine with SHVS( Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) will be powered by a 1.3 litre diesel engine that delivers 88 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque. The petrol engine will be available with two transmission options, a 5-speed manual and 4 speed automatic transmission, while the diesel engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
On the outside, the 2017 Ciaz will receive a new front grille with new bumpers and headlamps will get LED DRLs and a new set of alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the sedan will get features such as touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and dual airbags will be standard across all variants.
