Alcatel-Lucent and Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced the appointment of Arnaud Soubelet as the CEO of their joint venture Alcatel-Lucent Network Management Services India Ltd (ALNMSI).
Earlier this year, telecom major Bharti Airtel announced its joint venture with Alcatel Lucent for managed services.
The five-year deal was valued at USD 500 million for managing Airtel?s fixed-line and broadband operations.
?I am delighted to be part of Alcatel-Lucent Network Managed Services India. This joint venture is a landmark being the first managed services operations for fixed networks in India,? Soubelet said in a statement.
Earlier, he was heading the hosted and managed services business for Alcatel Lucent.
Soubelet has held several key assignments in France, Latin America, Greece, Egypt and India across sales, enterprises and managed services.
In the JV, which manages Bharti Airtel?s pan India wireline broadband and telephone services, 74 per cent stake is held by Alcatel Lucent, while the remaining 26 per cent is with Airtel.
ALNMSI began pan-India operations on August 1 with 4,000 employees and is headquartered in the National Capital Region, the statement said.
