New Delhi, July 9:: India's software and services exports grew 29 per cent in 2007-08 to record a revenue of $40.4 billion, up from $31.4 billion in the previous year, premier trade body NASSCOM said.

The overall IT-BPO industry, including the domestic market, recorded 28 per cent growth to touch $52 billion revenue in FY 2007-08.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) leads the NASSCOM ranking of top 20 IT Software and Services exporters in FY 2007-08 as well as top 20 IT-BPO employers in FY 2007-08, followed by Infosys Technologies Ltd and Wipro Technologies.

NASSCOM also announced the rankings of the top 15 BPOs wherein Genpact leads the list followed by WNS Global Services and IBM-Daksh.

The software and services revenue is expected to grow between 21-24 per cent in the current fiscal, with the export segment foretasted to reach 50 billion dollar.

The BPO exports clocked 30 per cent increase to touch a revenue of $10.9 billion.

Sounding confident about the growth prospects of the Indian IT industry Mr. Som Mittal, president NASSCOM also expressed his concern about the slowdown in the US economy as he said that India is part of the global delivery system and cannot be said to be insulated (from the global economic scenario).

"We are well on our target to achieve 60 billion dollar revenue in export in 2009-10," NASSCOM President Som Mittal said.
