Donald Trump’s appointment of Sriram Krishnan as the AI advisor to his administration has sparked more criticism than support. Many critics have expressed anti-India sentiments online, and a video currently circulating on social media shows an American man collecting signatures from Indians for a campaign to “stop the spread of the H1B virus.”
In the video, Alex Rosen shared the footage with the caption, “Getting Indians to sign to stop the spread of the H-1B virus.” The man approached several Indian-owned businesses and asked customers to sign the petition. He falsely claimed that the ‘H1B virus’ caused symptoms like diarrhea and bad odor, allegedly originating from India.

Social Media backlash
The video has amassed over a million views, sparking widespread backlash online. Many users condemned the man’s actions, calling them blatantly racist.
Critics argued that his behavior unfairly targets individuals based on their ethnicity and undermines the significant contributions H-1B workers make to the US economy.
A user wrote, “You have problems, man. This debate is not about hate against South Asians or East Asians, it is about love for Americans.” Another user wrote, “You’re a horrible little man. Indians are hard-working people, and America wouldn’t exist without them. My wife is Indian, and she is the smartest, most beautiful, and hard-working person I know. Yes, that includes white people.”
