After drawing criticism with the ‘Pope Donald Trump‘ AI-generated image, a brawny reimagination of the US president’s persona was seen wielding a lightsaber in a new social media post. Consequently, netizens recognised a crucial detail that the White House got wrong. The Trump administration celebrated the Stars Wars Day on May 4, which again presented an opportunity for the Republican leader to publicly bash the Democrats, who have unfavourably been nicknamed as the “radical left lunatics.”

Jumping into the Star Wars Day festivities, the White House’s latest AI image of Trump catches him standing in front of a backdrop that’s all about US flags and bald eagles. As a nod to the sci-fi franchise’s catchphrase, “May the force be with you,” the White House posted, “Happy May the 4th to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting so hard to to bring Sith Lords, Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, & well known MS-13 Gang Members, back into our Galaxy.”

The post concluded: “You’re not the Rebellion—you’re the Empire. May the 4th be with you.”

Star Wars fans react to White House’s Freudian slip in new AI Trump image

However, Star Wars fans were quick to notice that Trump’s persona manufactured to fit into the sci-fi conversation was far off from Obi-Wan Kenobi’s aura. Contrary to Star Wars creator George Lucas once emphasising, “Good guys are green and blue, bad guys are red,” the POTUS is seen clutching a red lightsaber instead. This lack of attention to detail ultimately backfired on the Trump administration, that so diligently hoped to drag the Democrats as the antagonists while the Republican president was ironically holding the weapon of choice associated with those having fallen to the dark side.

“‘Radical left is trying hard to bring the Sith Lords…’ while holding the Sith Lords lightsaber is crazy work,” someone left a comment on Instagram. Another user wrote on X, “Lol at least you correctly portrayed him as a bad guy as only the Sith have red lightsabers. Fake nerds.”

A third person replied, “The lack of self awareness and hypocrisy by calling the left ‘the empire’ while showing trump with a Sith lightsaber.” Meanwhile, another X user took the time to explain how the colour dynamics work in the film series: “The jedi have blue and green lightsabers except for Mace Windu who has purple because Samuel L Jackson wanted one, and the Sith have red lightsabers. So the White House is making Trump look a Sith because of the red lightsaber which are the bad guys.”

The Trump administration’s latest AI fumble comes just days after the president projected a vision of himself as the late Pope Francis’ successor on Truth Social. Prior to sharing the AI image, Trump joked, “I’d like to be pope. That would be my number one choice.”
