The Paris Olympics 2024 are slated to conclude with a closing ceremony on August 12 following weeks of intense sporting events. Stade de France, which is located north of Paris, will host the event. The closing ceremony is set to start on August 11 at 9 p.m. local time (12.30 a.m. IST on August 12). The event will be hosted by ‘The Tonight Show’ host Jimmy Fallon and sports broadcaster Mike Tirico.

Viewers can watch the closing ceremony on various Viacom18 channels such as the Jio Cinema website, JioCinema App and the Sports18 television channel.

The Parade of Flags, which begins the closing ceremony traditionally, sees athletes from various nations march into the stadium waving their national flags. Manu Bhaker and PR Sreejesh will serve as the flag bearers for India. Manu Bhaker won a bronze in the 10-meter air pistol to become the first Indian woman to win a medal in shooting. Sreejesh has declared his retirement from hockey after helping India win a bronze medal in the men’s division.

The Greek flag leads the procession, with the host nation trailing behind, as the Olympics were first held in Greece, according to accounts. Along with the flag bearing ceremony, the final medal presentation will take place during the ceremony for the final set of events.

As per media reports, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo will pass the Olympic flag to IOC president Thomas Bach, who will then present it to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. ANI reported that Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and the American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers are expected to perform in the closing ceremony along with Tom Cruise.
