Adani Green Energy (AGEL) on Monday said it has crossed 15 GW of operational capacity, reaching 15.5 GW. This includes around 11 GW of solar power, around 1.97 GW of wind, and about 2.56 GW of wind-solar hybrid capacity.

This is the fastest and largest renewable energy capacity addition in the country to date, the company claimed. 

In comparison, ReNew Power has an operational capacity of 11.2 GW of renewable energy while Tata Power has a renewable energy capacity of over 6 GW.

AGEL’s 15,53 GW operational portfolio can power nearly 7.9 million households, it said. The clean energy produced can light up thirteen individual Indian states. AGEL’s operational portfolio can power the entire northeast region with renewable energy. The milestone coincides with AGEL completing 10 years of powering the country with clean and affordable energy at unmatched speed and scale, it added.

It reflects our commitment to the planet and our resolve to drive India’s green resurgence!, Adani said .

Ashish Khanna, CEO, AGEL, said, the company aims to accelerate even faster from 15 GW to 50GW by 2030.

Adani Green Energy is developing the world’s largest renewable energy plant of 30 GW at Khavda in Kutch, Gujarat. Built across 538 sq kms, it is five  times the size of Paris and will be even visible from space.
