Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) today launched a probe on the suspicion that a private company, associated with the state police’s Dial-100 distress call service, has not deposited the PF contributions of many of its employees.

The Pune-based company operates 800 vehicles linked to the emergency ‘Dial-100’ service.

It is suspected to have deposited the PF contribution of only 571 of the total of 3,000 employees, including 2,400 drivers, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mehra said.

A team of EPFO officials visited the company’s office here today to check its records.

After examining the documents next step will be taken, he said.
