The year 2017 was a busy year for Bollywood. The silver screen witnessed a number of big releases from Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion to Golmaal Again to Fukrey Returns and now Tiger Zinda Hai. There were also some low-budget films that were surprise hits like Hindi Medium and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which did far more than trade analysts expected. Some became biggest openers, while some films were dominated by big actors, directors and studios. Here take a look at the most successful films of 2017 so far:

Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion (Hindi dubbed): Actor Prabhas starrer Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion was one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Where its part one Baahubali: The Beginning, created much anxiety among movie lovers with a question, “why Katappa killed Baahubali,” the part two broke all the records while answering the question! It was the culmination of the story that began with 2015's film and was applauded for its visual effects and epic scale. It earned a total of Rs 510.99 cr as its lifetime collection.

Golmaal Again: Ajay Devgn starrer horror comedy Golmaal Again, which was released on October 20 across the globe, did splendidly well at the Box Office. The Rohit Shetty directorial had earned a lot of praise not only because of its star cast but also because of the exciting trailer, and the combination of humour and horror. It did not only put up a commendable box office fight at the Indian market, Golmaal Again also extended its money minting march in the overseas market as well.

Tiger Zinda Hai: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai, which opened to a thunderous response from the audience and critics alike across the nation, has entered Rs. 100-crore club. Just in three days – over the weekend – the film managed to grab its place in Rs 100-crore club films. The film is running to packed theatres and has set cash registers ringing at the box-office. The has so far collected Rs 114 cr at the box office and is considered as a Hit!

Judwaa 2: Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu starrer Judwaa 2 have bagged some record-breaking numbers at the box office so far and its popularity cast a spell over the audience. The film was released on 4125+ screens (domestic 3500 + overseas 625) and was welcomed by the audience and critics alike.

Raees: The buzz surrounding Shahrukh Khan starrer was in full flame, be it for the way it was promoted, the speculation surrounding it or the controversies it leapt into. The film brought the King of Romance in a totally different avatar, and he spread his magic with the movie which was released earlier this year.

Toilet – Ek Prem Katha: Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was one of the few movies of 2017 that managed to impress the audience. Not only did the movie mint a good amount of money at the box-office but also gave a strong social message to the viewers. The film turned into one of the most successful of movies with this simple theme and ended up becoming another Hit of 2017.

Jolly LLB 2: This Akshay Kumar starrer film is a 2017 Indian black comedy film, written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. It is a sequel to the 2013 film Jolly LLB, and the second instalment of the Jolly LLB film series. The film had Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla and Annu Kapoor in lead roles and was a big Hit of 2017.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania: With the much prior hype and promotion 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania', casting the starrer from 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania', performed well at the box office. Unlike its title, Badrinath ki Dulhania talks about the world beyond marriage in an Indian society. Set up in a small town of Uttar Pradesh, the film tells what happens when two individuals that are totally opposite go against each other. The movie sends a very strong message in an interesting way that's why it was a hit!

Kaabil: Hrithik Roshan's power-packed performance and adorable Yami Gautam gave a hit film this year. While the storyline of this Sanjay Gupta flick might not sound any above than average, it's Hrithik Roshan's mesmerising performance, both as a lover boy and angry protagonist seeking revenge which pours all the masala to the movie.

Fukrey Returns: The comic caper Fukrey’s sequel which was released on December 8 has managed to make people roll on the floor laughing. Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Richa Chadha, Manjot Singh and Ali Faizal starrer had managed to do well and it has grossed quite an impressive sum at the box office.

Hindi Medium: Hindi Medium starring Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar in lead roles opened with a decent collection at the box office but it received good reviews from the critics. The film was 2017's most glorious movie because the actor catched what he’s meant to do, meant to be, gloriously. And thus it was a hit at the silver screen.
