For some reason, Bollywood has always been apprehensive about venturing into unorthodox genres. For example, horror comedy has been a genre, very few directors have laid their hands on. But with the grand success of Golmaal Again much to everyone's disbelief, directors, in that case, might receive a boost. Though Golmaal Again has been highlighted more so because of its box office success, there were other films as well which have been directed n the same line but somehow failed to create the box office magic. Bhool Bhulaiyaa- Akshay Kumar had given a stellar performance in this film. The film had a good run at the box office and earned Rs 52 crore. The film, besides Akshay, starred Vidya Balan, Shiney Ahuja and Paresh Rawal. The plot was gripping with a grabbing twist in the end.
Bhoothnath Returns- A youngster and a ghost (Amitabh Bachchan) come together in this horror comedy which encompasses topics like corruption. Amitabh Bachchan instils humour in the film and it had a lifetime collection of Rs 37.5 cr. Go Goa Gone- For the first time, Bollywood had filmed a zombie comedy. The film starring Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Puja Gupta and Anand Tiwari was laughable only in parts. The film had a lifetime collection of Rs 25 crore. Great Grand Masti – The film was the third instalment of the film Masti. The film which was originally scheduled for a 22nd July 2016 release was met with a setback after a pirated copy of the film was out before the stated date. The film starring Urvashi Rautela, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Ritesh Deshmukh was a disappointment at the box office, earned Rs 13.14 cr. -
Golmaal Again – Rohit Shetty’s fourth instalment in the Golmaal series, Golmaal Again, is doing wonders at the box office.The film starring Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade has now emerged as 2017’s biggest worldwide grosser. As per the report, the horror-comedy has managed to collect a whopping Rs 202.32 cr and still counting!
