The 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson has been named the highest paid dead celebrity in the world with an earning of $75 million. The list was released by Forbes and 'MJ', as his fans like to call him, has topped the list for the fifth time in a row. However, this is less than one-tenth of his earning in 2016. Michael's earnings were boosted by the Halloween special and a new album Scream while joining a list of ventures including a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas and a stake in the EMI music publishing catalogue. Here are the top five celebrities to earn the most after their death. 1) Micheal Jackson (earning of $75 mn)- The 'King of Pop', Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009. Famous for songs like Dangerous, Thriller and Beat It, Jackson clocked $825 million in 2016- the highest annual total for any entertainer dead or alive, as per Forbes report. The whopping earnings were mostly from the sale of his half of the Sony/ATV catalogue. Despite earning less than one-tenth less in 2017 than that of 2016, he still is the highest-earning dead celebrities courtesy the new album Scream, a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas and a stake in the EMI music publishing catalogue, as per Forbes report. Interestingly there are more on its way to new markets in countries like Thailand and Vietnam. He is still featured in MasterCard and Rolex advertisements. The famous cartoonist died on February 12, 2000, due to colon cancer and MetLife this year retired the Peanuts gang from its campaign after three decades of Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
