Developed by the Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF), the Vande Bharat trains have significantly enhanced intercity connectivity while reducing travel time. The Vande Bharat Express trains are designed for a top speed of 180 kmph. However, the speed of a train varies depending on various factors, including the geometry of the track, stoppages en route, and maintenance work in the section.
