On day 3, which was a Saturday, ‘Shaandaar’ earned Rs 6.75 crore, which must have been a disappointment for the duo as there was hardly any other release to give them competition in the theatres. On day 4, which was a Sunday, the film earned another Rs 6.11 crore, which signalled public’s interest in it was fast waning. If the foreign take is added to the domestic one, the total adds up to Rs 47.16 crore. (Bollywood Hungama)

A good release date, great hype and publicity, striking chemistry between the lead pair and a solo release- Shaandaar had everything working in its favour. Yet the film could hardly make enough use of all that. But the good news for Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor is that ‘Shaandaar’ has logged the highest opening for both the actors! (Bollywood Hungama)

‘Shaandaar’ opened well at the box office due to the Dussehra holiday across the country on day 1 and the momentum is likely to take it over the Rs 50-crore mark. The film enjoyed a good opening at major cities, including Mumbai and Delhi. Shahid and Alia’s film had an amazing buzz before it hit screens and it was expected to create a storm at the box office.
