Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch a follow-up pf the Mi Max smartphone and could unveil the Mi Max 2 in May this year. According to a recent leak, the Mi Max 2 smartphone will feature similar 6.44 inch full HD screen and could have the Snapdragon 660 processor alongside 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The leak about the Xiaomi Mi Max was shared by Weibo and first spotted by Android Pure, and it reveals some of the features of the device before the launch announcement. Xiaomi Mi Max, according to the report, will be fueled by a big 5,000 mAh battery and will have fast charging. The smartphone will run the latest Android Nougat and Xiaomi’s own MIUI will be running on top. There is no information on the other specs like camera, storage and connectivity options.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi, last year had unveiled the first device, Mi Max With with 6.44-inch display screen. Xiaomi Mi Max sports 6.44-inch supersized screen with sunlight display that delivers accurate colours even in bright conditions, claims company. It comes with a large 4,850mAh battery that can support up to 14 hours of streaming video (via Wi-Fi) in a single charge, the company said in a statement. The Rs 14,999 device with 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard memory (or 4GB RAM/128GB memory at Rs 19,999) claimed to be the start of a new era of big screen devices. Mi Max was launched for those who want a bigger display, good battery life and, most importantly, a device that does not cost a bomb.
Xiaomi, meanwhile, has no plans to launch anything at the Mobile World Congress. But the new Mi Max 2 smartphone can be expected to be launched soon. There is no information yet, on how much the latest smartphone by Xiaomi will cost but could be priced around the same at which the Mi Max was launched.
