After launching the Jio cashback offer in a new avatar, Reliance Jio has silently refreshed its Jio Phone packs. The Jio Phone Dhan Dhana Dhan prepaid pack worth Rs 153 has been revised to now offer 1GB high-speed 4G data daily along with unlimited local and national calls, 100 SMSes per day, and access to Jio apps for a validity of 28 days. The Jio Phone Rs 153 pack earlier offered half the data i.e., 500MB per day in addition to unlimited calls and SMSes for the same number of days.
Besides, Reliance Jio has launched two new Jio Phone sachet packs that include a Rs 54 and a Rs 24 pack. The Rs 54 Jio Phone sachet prepaid pack offers 3.5GB 4G data (500MB per day), unlimited local & national calls, and 70 SMSes for a validity of seven days, while the Rs 24 Jio Phone sachet gives 2GB 4G data (500MB per day), unlimited calls, and 20 SMS quota for a validity of two days. Both the sachets bring unlimited access to Jio apps such as JioMusic, JioTV for the given validity.
All the three packs – Rs 153, Rs 54, and Rs 24 come with the data speed cap as well. If the user exhausts the given data limit within the validity, the data speed will be reduced to 64Kbps. However, the Jio apps will still be accessible but the quality may suffer. With the rehash of Rs 153 pack, Reliance Jio has made the Jio Phone more affordable for customers.
The Jio Phone was launched last year at Reliance’s Annual General Meeting by chairman Mukesh Ambani. The Jio Phone was aimed at breaking through an entirely new category of phones that looked basic but touted a smartphone’s specifications and features. It supports NFC payments, TV casting, video calling, live TV, and more. The customers were offered Jio Phone at an ‘effective’ free price. The fine print of Jio Phone included a security deposit of Rs 1,500, which is refundable after a period of three years, given that the customer adheres to it.
