Honor 9 Lite will be launched in India on Wednesday, January 17. Honor has started sending out media invites for the launch that is slated to be held at an event in New Delhi on Wednesday, January 17. Earlier, the company confirmed the Honor 9 Lite launch without giving out any time frame. Flipkart has also listed the smartphone as an ‘Exclusive’, which means that it will be exclusively available on Flipkart. The Honor 9 Lite was initially launched in China last year in December. The smartphone comes with dual camera setups on both the front and rear sides, along with a metal unibody design.
At the China launch event, Honor said that it will launch the Honor 9 Lite smartphone in at least 14 countries that include India, Russia, and the UK among others. Meanwhile, Honor India has posted a teaser on Twitter that reads “#Honor9Lite is all set to make a grand entry! Get ready to welcome the newest member in the #Honor family & get notified on @Flipkart . #MaxYourBeauty.” Accompanying this tweet is an image that shows ‘3 Days to go’ for the launch of the Honor 9 Lite.
Honor 9 Lite Price in India
The Honor 9 Lite was launched in three models – 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage, 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage in China. The first variant is priced at 1,199 yuan (roughly Rs 11,700), the second costs 1,499 yuan (roughly Rs 15,600), and the price of the top variant is 1,799 yuan (roughly Rs. 17,500). These price points indicate that the Honor 9 Lite India price is going to be either less or somewhere equivalent.
Flipkart will be the exclusive retailer for the sale of Honor 9 Lite in India. The smartphone is now listed on the website, sans the price and availability details. The smartphone’s price and availability details will be revealed at the launch event on Wednesday, January 17.
Honor 9 Lite Specifications
The Honor 9 Lite is a dual-SIM smartphone that supports 4G VoLTE connectivity. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo with the company’s EMUI 8.0 skin on top. The smartphone is powered by a Kirin 659 SoC coupled with three RAM and storage variants – 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage, 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage. The storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB). It has a 5.65-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) IPS display having an 18:9 aspect ratio and 428ppi pixel density.
Talking about the cameras, the Honor 9 Lite boasts of four cameras – two cameras on each side. The smartphone features a 13-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary camera on both the sides. The rear camera setup is coupled with PDAF and LED flash module. The smartphone packs a 3000mAh battery under the hood that is rated to deliver a talk time of up to 20 hours on 3G connectivity and a standby time of up to 24 days. The connectivity options in the smartphone include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB with OTG support, apart from 4G VoLTE.
