Honor 9 Lite with 5.65-inch full-HD+ display and four cameras has been launched at an event in New Delhi. The Honor 9 Lite will be available in two models – 4GB RAM/ 64GB and 3GB/ 32GB. The former variant is priced at Rs. 14,999 and the latter will be available at Rs. 10,999 in India. The smartphone will be exclusively available on Flipkart and Honor’s online store starting January 21. The Honor 9 Lite purchase can be sweetened with a couple of additional deals under the Flipkart Republic Day sale. A 10 percent cashback offer can be further availed while making purchases via Citibank credit cards on Flipkart.
P Sanjeev, Huawei and Honor India Business Head, said that the Honor 9 Lite is the first Indian overseas launch, which is one month ahead of the global launch of the smartphone. This gives us a hint that Honor 9 Lite will be globally launched roughly a month later in select markets.
Honor 9 Lite Price in India
The Honor 9 Lite was launched in two models – 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage in India. The 3GB RAM/ 32GB variant is priced at Rs. 14,999 and the latter will be available at Rs. 10,999 in India. The Honor 9 Lite will go on sale starting January 21 on Flipkart and Honor’s online store. The Honor 9 Lite comes in following colours – Sapphire Blue, Glacier Grey, and Midnight Black (with matte finish).
In China, the Honor 9 Lite was launched in three configurations – 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage, 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage. The first variant is priced at 1,199 yuan (roughly Rs 11,700), the second costs 1,499 yuan (roughly Rs 15,600), and the price of the top variant is 1,799 yuan (roughly Rs. 17,500).
Honor 9 Lite Specifications
The Honor 9 Lite is a dual-SIM smartphone that supports 4G VoLTE connectivity. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo with the company’s EMUI 8.0 skin on top. The smartphone is powered by a Kirin 659 SoC coupled with three RAM and storage variants – 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage, 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage. The storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB). It has a 5.65-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) IPS display having an 18:9 aspect ratio and 428ppi pixel density.
In the camera department, the Honor 9 Lite touts four cameras – two cameras on each side. The smartphone features a 13-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary camera on both the sides. The rear camera setup is coupled with PDAF and LED flash module. The smartphone packs a 3000mAh battery under the hood that is rated to deliver a talk time of up to 20 hours on 3G connectivity and a standby time of up to 24 days. The connectivity options in the smartphone include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB with OTG support, apart from 4G VoLTE.
Additionally, the Honor 9 Lite comes with a new mode that will inform the caller when you’re driving, just like S-Bike mode. There is also a Paytm integration that allows you to scan your fingerprint to authorise payments in the app.
