PM Modi meets Bill Gates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with Bill Gates has garnered the attention of media across the nation. However, what has become the talk of the town, is the PM’s choice of attire, which he called “special”. Modi wore a white kurta pajama and paired it with a blue-colored sleeveless sadri, or jacket, as many know it. The special factor of this jacket is that it is made from recycled plastic bottles and leftover cloth pieces that were collected from tailors’ shops.
“It has been made of old clothes and thirty to forty percent waste plastic bottles have been used and all this has been recycled to make the cloth (for the jacket),” Modi told Gates while pointing at his attire. He further gave a glimpse to Gates into the Indian culture and remarked that recycling and reusing is inherent to tour nature.
When Modi dresses, the world watches
This isn’t the first time that Modi grabbed eyeballs for his choice of clothes. We have all witnessed the PM projecting a distinct style during his international visits. His typical linen and khadi kurtas in understated hues complemented by finely crafted jackets, has consistently hit the mark.
One of the notable aspects of Modi’s fashion has been his experiment with headgears. Whether it’s jungle safari hats, vibrant pagaris (turbans), or the indigenous hats representing various Indian states, Modi showcases a commitment to authenticity and respect for local customs during official visits or festive occasions.
