Rana Daggubati shot to fame when he starred as Bhallala Deva in 2015’s historical unstoppable epic Baahubali: The Beginning. Since then the actor has become a household name and on his birthday today, several members of the film fraternity wished the actor. Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, “Happy birthday big guy! @RanaDaggubati,” and shared a photo of the two actors together. Karan Johar wrote, “Happy birthday @RanaDaggubati …have the best year!!! Lots of love always.” Others who wished the star included Bipasha Basu, Dhanush and Reitish Deshmukh.

Making the occasion even more special for the actor was the release of his looks in two of his upcoming films Guru and The Ghazi Attack. Rana shared the pics on Twitter yesterday, writing, “Here we are!! #Guru and #Ghazi.” In Sudhu Kongara’s Guru, the actor’s look is quite rugged and aggressive – quite like his Baahubali character. However, in Ghazi Attack, he’s sporting a dapper look as he is wearing a navy uniform. It’s difficult to imagine he’s the same man who played Bhallala Deva.

In the Hindi-Telegu flick, Rana will play a naval officer and according to a report in Indian Express, Ghazi Attack will be India’s first underwater film. That means that like Baahubali, it will also treat audiences to some mind-blowing visuals. It is based on the sinking of the Pakistani submarine Ghazi during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and focuses on the struggle of the naval officer and his underlings to stay alive as they remain under water for 18 days. Rana will next be seen in Baahubali: The Conclusion, which recently made headlines when the climax fight scene was leaked on the internet by one of the members of the film’s editorial staff.
