STL, an optical and digital solutions company, has introduced the RoboEdge AI Robotics Education Programme to empower young students in rural Maharashtra with advanced technology skills. The initiative is a collaboration with Robotex India, a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide, as outlined in the press release.

In a small and warm group ceremony, STL and Robotex India inaugurated the programme with Nanda Gaikwad, Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Education, as the chief guest, and Ganesh Dandage, Controlling Officer Education at Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, as the guest of honor.

The press release highlighted that the RoboEdge Programme builds upon the success of STL’s Digital Equaliser and Improved Learning (DEIL) Edutech initiative, currently benefiting 300 government schools in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Nandurbar, and Silvassa.

“The best part of STL RoboEdge Programme is that we are making it a part of the curriculum, not a co-curricular activity. This programme has been designed following the directive of NEP 2020, ensuring students develop skills in digital literacy, cybersecurity, coding, AI and IoT, robotics, data science and design thinking,” Payal Rajpal, director of Robotex India, said.

The RoboEdge programme’s goal, as stated in the release, is to deliver top-notch education in next-gen technologies, starting from digital literacy and coding and progressing to advanced disciplines like AI and robotics. The programme aims to integrate these technologies into the core of the school curriculum, laying a foundational framework that enables underserved students to stay at the forefront of technology and sets them on a path to professional success.

“We believe in the power of technology, and we want to empower the next generation with problem-solving and out-of-the-box thinking. We are driving this change in government schools through our STEM, AI, and Robotics programs. We hope to give them a competitive edge for a dynamic and successful career ahead.” About STL – Sterlite Technologies Ltd,” Anjali Byce, group chief human resource officer, STL, said.
