The Scaler School of Technology (SST), a Bengaluru based private educational institution claims to have witnessed a huge jump in interest from students. Applications have grown by 240% in the past two years. This year, more than 600 students joined the campus, chosen from around 20,000 people who took the National Scaler Entrance Test (NSET).

SST’s flagship offering is a four-year degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, designed around hands-on learning. The institute noted that, instead of spending years on theory before touching real projects, students start industry internships as early as their second year.

The institution noted that, by the time the class of 2027 reached that stage, 96.3% had already secured paid internships. Average stipends were around Rs 31,264 per month, with some exceptional offers going as high as Rs 2 lakh per month in Singapore. The top 10% earned an average of Rs 92,000 per month.

Orientation Day 2025

On August 4, 2025, SST hosted its Orientation Day Ceremony at the Macro Campus in Electronic City, Bengaluru, marking the start for the 2025–2029 undergraduate batch. Shruti, SST’s Programme Director and IIT Kharagpur alumna, welcomed the students and urged them to treat their time at SST as a challenge to grow and think differently.

Anshuman Singh, Scaler’s Co-founder and Dean at SST and a former tech lead for Facebook Messenger, delivered a motivating address. He emphasised the value of curiosity, hands-on exploration, and stepping out of comfort zones. He reminded the students that they are beginning their foundational years at a time when fields like computer science and AI are rapidly transforming the world and that SST would serve as a “laboratory” for their ambitions.

Program Director Manmeet Singh led the mid-morning session, using interactive games to help students settle in and appreciate the diversity and opportunities in their batch.

A special address

One highlight of the day was the “Super Mentor Central Session,” featuring a live virtual talk by Yash Kumar, Programme and Tech Lead at OpenAI, who currently works on developing agent technologies. He shared his journey from IIIT Hyderabad to building AI systems like ChatGPT. His message on consistency, resilience, and lifelong learning gave students rare insights that closely reflected SST’s core values.
