More than 1,400 students from Delhi government schools have qualified for NEET-UG this year,  Education Minister Atishi said on Friday. The results for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) were released by the National Testing Agency on Tuesday.

At a press conference, Atishi reported that 1,414 students from Delhi government schools successfully qualified for NEET-UG this year. The number of qualifiers has been steadily increasing each year. In 2020, 569 students had qualified, and this year’s figure is nearly two-and-a-half times higher, Atishi noted.

According to the NTA, several factors contributed to higher scores this year: an easier exam, an increase in registrations, a question with two correct answers, and grace marks due to lost examination time. Out of the 20.38 lakh students who registered for the NEET UG 2024 exam, 11.45 lakh candidates qualified.

The NEET UG 2024 results were announced by the NTA on June 4, 2024. This year’s NEET UG exam was held on May 5, 2024, in a single shift from 2 pm to 5.20 pm. The exam was conducted for over 24 lakh candidates across 557 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
