Scholars from various madrasas in Anantnag conveyed their appreciation to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday for endorsing the establishment of a madrasa board in the union territory.

This development followed the approval granted by the Jammu and Kashmir Government to form a draft committee tasked with proposing the creation of a madrasa board in the union territory.

On Wednesday, scholars from Anantnag district held a press conference, expressing their contentment with the decree issued by the Lieutenant Governor for initiating the madrasa board. They emphasised that not only the general public but also the students enrolled in these religious madrasas were jubilant about this decision.

The scholars extended their gratitude to all stakeholders who played a role in the formation of the madrasa board. In addition to thanking Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the scholars acknowledged Chief Secretary Atul Dilu, Director of School Education and other officials for promptly approving the formation of the draft committee.

Highlighting the potential benefits for students, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, the scholars emphasised that the practical establishment of this board would be highly advantageous. One of the scholars pledged full cooperation to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Madrasa Board and the officers entrusted with the board’s responsibilities.
