Finally, the long wait came to an end on Sunday after Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) conducted the Civil Services Prelims (CSAT Prelims) 2017. But, still, a lot has to happen as the next level is still ahead. The first slot of exam got over on Sunday. The UPSC Civil Services Prelims CSAT Exam 2017 got over at 12:30 PM. The exam was conducted at various centers across the nation amid tight security. Now, every aspirant is searching for paper analysis. So here is what some aspirants have to say about the paper.

According to a report in India.com, some of the students seem satisfied, but some were really upset with the tough General Knowledge section. “GK section was very difficult,” India.com reported quoting an aspirant. Reportedly, the questions asked were more of concept-based. The afternoon slot exam is yet to be conducted. Candidates who will qualify the pre-exam of Civil Services 2017 will be eligible for the Mains level.

Earlier, the civil services preliminary examination was preponed. It is after the gap of three years that Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted the examination in June, rather than August. The preliminary tests for 2016, 2015 and 2014 were held during the month of August.

The decision for June date was taken to ensure that the entire process of the examination is completed in time.

The civil services examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages — preliminary, main and interview — to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others. Thousands of candidates take the test every year at various centres across the country.
