Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former minister Brishen Patel has lodged a complaint with the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police against a woman for allegedly sending an “edited” picture of him with two girls on WhatsApp and demanding Rs 50 lakh from him, reports The Indian Express.
Patel, who served as the minister in the education and information and public relations department with the Bihar government, filed the complaint on November 17. In his complaint, he alleged that the woman wanted to join RJD and wished to become an MLA. She had met him at his Kadamkuan residence in Patna sometime back.
He said that in the first week of November, the woman had incidentally met her at Hardinge Road and requested him to visit her home at Patel Nagar for tea, which he obliged. He said he was accompanied by his staffers.
According to an EOW official, when the former minister was seated in her drawing room, two women came and started “undressing” themselves, while the woman went inside a room giving some excuse.
Patel reprimanded the two girls and left the woman’s house. Later, the woman sent the “edited” picture of Patel with the two girls on WhatsApp and demanded Rs 50 lakh.
The EOW said that it is probing the matter.
A member of the Janata Dal (United) for a long time, he joined former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (S) before becoming a member of the RJD.
