At least 18 people were killed and 19 were injured after a double-decker bus collided with a milk tanker on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in the Bangarmau area of Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district, police said on Wednesday, according to PTI.

The incident took place at around 5.15 am on Wednesday on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway under the Behtamujawar Police Station area as the bus was traveling from Bihar to Delhi.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene, rescued all the injured, and admitted them to CHC Bangarmau for treatment. Authorities are taking necessary action by taking the bodies into custody.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the road accident in the Unnao district and expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. The chief minister directed officials to reach the scene immediately and expedite relief efforts.
