A building collapsed in Delhi’s Daryaganj today. August 20 around 12.14 PM. Three people have been killed in the incident, as per a PTI report. Delhi Fire Services confirmed that the building with a ground and two floors above collapsed due to undisclosed reasons.

The fire tenders rushed to the spot and rescued three persons from under the debris, who were then rushed to the hospital. Rescue operations are underway by the Delhi Police, Fire Department and Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).

This comes just hours after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was slapped at a public event in Delhi. The accused, a Gujarat-origin Rajesh Khimji Sakariya, was reportedly a “dog-lover” and has been arrested by the Delhi Police. As per reports, the incident will invite a probe by the Ministry of Home Affairs, in light of the Supreme Court’s stay on its order on stray dogs.

However, that’s not all for Delhi. In the early hours of Wednesday, more than 50 reputable schools across Delhi NCR received a bomb threat and a ransom demand via email. The group was identified to be common across all schools, called ‘Terrorizer 111’ who warned of immediate evacuation and more than USD 5,000 in crypto. The Delhi Police and bomb squad was also involved in a full search of the premises.
