The country’s financial capital i.e. Mumbai is reeling under the impact of heavy rains. Torrential rains pounded Mumbai throughout the day yesterday. The city received a whopping 298 mm of rainfall, the highest in a day in August since 1997. People are facing a lot of problems due to traffic jams, waterlogging, cancelled trains, flight delays and what not. In the midst of all these problems in the maximum city, Anand Mahindra, the executive chairman of Mahindra Group, has written something on Twitter. And, his tweet is going massively viral. The tweet tells a big tale of the helping and never say die spirit of the people of Aamchi Mumbai. So what did he tweet? Mahindra reacted to a BBC article – “Houston floods: Night curfew bid to stop robbery and looting”, he wrote on Twitter, “And here in Mumbai,a friend stuck in a car to the airport for 5 hrs told me that slumdwellers came out to serve stranded people tea&biscuits.”

Earlier, Anand Mahindra had cancelled his flight to Delhi for an Indo Australian meeting due to the rain.
It was reported by ANI that locals were offering food items to people stranded in rains.

The State Disaster Management Authority has said rains in the megapolis, which came to a standstill following incessant downpour, are likely to be lesser on Wednesday.
