The 17th Lok Sabha is set to culminate today with a discussion on the construction of the “historic” Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the consecration that took place on January 22, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Parliament is likely to pass a resolution thanking PM Modi for the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony, The Indian Express reported, citing sources.

It is likely that there will also be a discussion on the BJP government’s pledge in Amrit Kaal for Viksit Bharat and its resolve for good governance.

According to the Lok Sabha list of business for Saturday, former Union Minister Satya Pal Singh and Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde will raise the discussion under Rule 193.

Ahead of the discussion, BJP MP Satya Pal Singh said, “Nothing else can be a matter of great pride for everyone and me that we will have a discussion on him (Lorn Ram), who has been worshipped by the people of this country for millions of years,” he said.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, “Ram Mandir was, is and will always be the centre of faith for us, but those people who used to raise questions that BJP says Lord Ram will come but are not telling us the date. We have constructed the temple and the entire country has a festive fervour. And this shows that Narendra Modi is going to get a hat-trick.”
