In this election season, political battles are being fought not only on streets but cyberspace as well. The high-pitched war often sees meme-fication of political opponent on the social media. The BJP recently took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his slip of tongue during a press conference. While talking about the poll-bound states, Gandhi said that ‘their (BJP’s)’ government is going in Madhya Pradesh. He went on to say that the governments are also going in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. He quickly corrected himself saying that he got ‘confused’. He meant Congress is coming in power in Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.
The BJP took the bit of his statement – ‘Rajasthan mein bhi sarkar jaa rahi hai, Chhattigarh mein bhi sarkar jaa rahi hai‘ and posted on its official X handle. Along with the clip, the BJP said, ” Rahul Gandhi has admitted that Congress is going out of power both in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.”
