Odisha Congress Full List: The Congress party has released its first list of 47 candidates for the forthcoming assembly elections in Odisha, which will be held in four phases and are expected to coincide with the conclusion of the state’s legislative assembly term on June 2, 2024.
With 147 assembly seats up for grabs, the Congress nominations feature prominent figures including Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Pattanatak, who will be contesting from the Nuapada constituency. Additionally, the party’s campaign committee chairman and former Union minister Bhakta Charan Das has been named as the candidate for the Narla seat in Kalahandi district. Sagar Charan, son of Bhakta Charan Das, has been nominated to contest the Bhawanipatna assembly segment, while bureaucrat-turned-politician Bijay Patnaik is set to vie for the Parlakehmundi seat in Gajapati district. Among the incumbents, C S Raazen Ekka from Rajgangpur and Taraprasad Bahinipati from Jeypore have been renominated by the Congress.

Furthermore, Samakhemundi legislator Ramesh Chandra Jena and Dasarathi Gomango from the Mohana (ST) seat have also secured renominations. Notably, Narasingha Mishra, the Bolangir MLA who previously announced his decision not to contest, will be replaced by his son Samarendra Mishra. Balabhadra Majhi, who recently switched allegiance from the BJD to Congress, has been nominated to contest from the Lanjigarh assembly seat. The Congress party has also decided to allocate the Bonai and Biramitrapur assembly seats to the CPI(M) and JMM, respectively. The election dates are scheduled for May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1.
