The Ludhiana police have arrested a school principal, Shree Bhagwan, following the emergence of a video depicting the alleged assault of a kindergarten student. The incident unfolded as a viral video circulated across social media platforms, prompting swift action by authorities.
In the video footage, it appears that several students are purposely holding the young boy by his hands and feet in the air, while Principal Shree Bhagwan is seen thrashing the kid on the soles of his feet and back using a stick. The child’s desperate cries for help echo in the background, yet the accused continues in his actions.

The incident came to light when Saloona Khatoon, a resident of a Muslim colony, filed a formal police complaint. Khatoon’s 10-year-old son, Mohammad Murtaza, a lower kindergarten student at Bal Vikas Model School in the same vicinity, returned home on Tuesday in a state of inconsolable distress. His feet showed visible signs of redness and swelling.
According to Khatoon, her son recalled being summoned to the principal’s office, where other students were present. Allegedly, the principal instructed these students to restrain her son, after which he subjected him to repeated thrashings on the soles of his feet and his back.

The family claims that this disturbing incident recurred the following day. They assert that the young boy underwent this punishment as a consequence of accidentally pricking another student with his pencil.
An FIR has been lodged at the Moti Nagar police station, invoking various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges of wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, and voluntarily causing hurt, among others.
Additionally, the case falls under sections 75 and 82 of the Juvenile Justice Act. Authorities have confirmed the principal’s arrest in connection with the incident.
