With the President holding assent to a bill that protects 21 AAP MLAs, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has earlier accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of indulging in political vendetta and said the BJP is “scared” of AAP and unable to digest its defeat in Delhi.

Terming Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s attempt to appoint 21 Principal Secretaries as a mistake,  Congress on Thursday sought an apology from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and asked him to seek resignation of all the legislators and contest polls again.

Congress leader Pramod Tiwari told reporters, “Appointing 21 Principal Secretaries is not justifiable. The question is straight that what is the reason behind this? Kejriwal ji has been caught doing a mistake, so I believe he must apologies. If he is a correct person he must ask all his 21 MLAs to resign and contest for polls again, it will prove that his popularity has increased or decreased.”

On Wednesday, Kejriwal had alleged that the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were adopting double standards on the issue surrounding appointment of the Parliamentary Secretaries.

Meanwhile today Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Chandni Chowk MLA Alka Lamba has been suspended from the post of party spokesperson on Tuesday as she had deviated from the party line while commenting on the resignation of former Delhi Transport Minster Gopal Rai. Alka Lamba had deviated from the party line and told reporters that Transport Minister Gopal Rai had been “relieved” of the portfolio to make way for a fair probe into the Premium Bus Service scheme.

While the party maintained that Rai requested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to relieve him from the responsibility of Transport Department on health grounds as he had recently undergone a major surgery, Lamba said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wanted to ensure a fair probe into the alleged scam and he had asked Rai to step down.
