IndiGo has launched two new direct flights from Pune to Dubai and Bangkok, significantly enhancing the city’s international connectivity. The flights, originally scheduled to start operations on October 27. However, it was postponed and took off on Friday, offering direct links to two major global destinations.
According to Indian express, an IndiGo spokesperson said that these direct flights are essential for Pune’s expanding IT and automobile sectors. The new routes will promote trade and tourism between Pune, Dubai, and Bangkok, further boosting the city’s economic growth.
The Pune-Dubai flight will operate daily, departing from Pune at 17:40 and arriving in Dubai at 22:10. The return flight from Dubai will depart at 00:15. The Pune-Bangkok flight will run three times a week – on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays – with departures at 23:10 and return flights from Bangkok at 01:15.
Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, highlighted that the addition of these flights further strengthens IndiGo’s presence in the region. “With the launch of these new flights, IndiGo now operates over 85 direct weekly flights to Thailand from eight cities across India,” Malhotra said.
Before Friday’s launch, Pune had only two direct international flights: a SpiceJet service to Dubai and an Air India (formerly Vistara) flight to Singapore, which began in December 2023. With the addition of these new services, Pune now boasts four direct international flights connecting the city to Dubai, Bangkok, and Singapore.
