A fire broke out at a plastic bag factory in Nangloi, outer Delhi, around 9 pm on Friday. It took the Delhi Fire Service about six hours to put out the flames by 3.30 am Saturday. PTI report says no one was injured in the incident. Currently, they are cooling down the area to prevent any reignition.
The factory had chemicals and plastic materials which caused the fire to spread quickly. All the workers managed to escape safely once the fire started. The officials will investigate to determine what caused the fire.
The flames were doused by 3:30 am after at least 28 fire tenders were pressed into service.
In a separate incident, a fire broke out at a building in central Kolkata’s Dalhousie area in the early hours of Saturday, PTI reported.
Seven fire tenders have been called into service in an attempt to douse the blaze. The fire broke out around 4.30 am at a building behind the Bankshall Court in Garstin Place.
There have been no injuries in the fire, the police said.
According to an officer, “The blaze was brought under control within an hour. The cooling process is ongoing at present. Though it seems that the fire was a result of an electrical short circuit, we are waiting for the forensics report to confirm the cause”.
