The Congress party has appointed Mahesh Kumar Goud as the new President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Friday, marking a significant leadership change in the state.
In a statement, the party extended its gratitude to the outgoing TPCC President, Revanth Reddy, for his contributions during his tenure. His leadership was acknowledged as pivotal in strengthening the Congress’s position in Telangana.
The Telangana Congress took to social media platform X to congratulate Goud on his new role. In a post, the party said, “On behalf of Telangana Congress, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Mahesh Kumar Goud, who has been appointed as the 4th TPCC President of Telangana State.”

In response, Goud expressed his gratitude to the party leadership. “I am truly humbled by the faith shown in me by Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in appointing me as the President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee,” Goud wrote on X.
He further acknowledged the support of party volunteers and members, stating, “I extend my sincere thanks to the countless volunteers and party members whose hard work keeps our movement alive. Building on the vision set by outgoing president Revanth Reddy Garu and with the guidance of our senior leaders, I look forward to uniting our efforts and taking the party to greater heights in service of Telangana’s people. Jai Hind!”
Kale Yadaiah joins Congress
In other political developments, Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLA from Chevella, Kale Yadaiah, joined the Congress party on June 28. His decision to switch parties was seen as a strategic gain for the Congress. He joined the party in Delhi in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and AICC in-charge Deepadas Munshi.
Yadaiah was welcomed with the party’s traditional ‘kanduva’ by CM Revanth Reddy, signalling his official induction into the Congress ranks. Prominent leaders like TPCC working President Anjan Kumar Yadav, former Minister Dr. Chandrashekhar, and TPCC leader Dr. Rohin Reddy were present at the event.
BRS leaders continue to join Congress
The Congress party has been steadily gaining momentum in Telangana, with several prominent BRS leaders switching sides. Notable leaders, including Jagtial BRS MLA Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Kadiyam Srihari, Danam Nagender, Tellam Venkat Rao, and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, have also joined the Congress in recent months. These developments underscore the growing influence of the Congress party in the region ahead of upcoming elections.
