Telangana, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy Stabbed: BRS lawmaker Kotha Prabhakar Reddy was stabbed during a poll campaign in Telangana’s Siddipet on Monday. Latest media reports say that the BRS MP is out of danger and the accused behind the knife attack has been taken into custody. The sitting MP is the BRS candidate from Dubbak Assembly Constituency, which will vote on November 30 next month.

The accused, who was nabbed by Reddy’s supporters was thrashed and later taken into custody by police, has also been admitted to hospital. Initial reports say that an ID of a local TV channel has been recovered from him. The cops are ascertaining whether he is a local reporter or he forged the ID. The man has been identified as one C Raju. An Indian Express report says that Raju uploads videos on various social media platforms. Minister T Harish Rao said that Reddy is stable now and has been shifted to a private hospital in Secunderabad.

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also addressed a poll rally in Jukkal. The BRS president affirmed his commitment to upholding the ideals of ‘Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb,’ for which Telangana is held up as an exemplar for the rest of the nation.

“Telangana is a peace-loving, secular state. I assure you that as long as KCR is alive, Telangana will remain a peace-loving and secular state,” he said. BRS believes in taking all sections together, whether it is Hindu, Muslim or Christian, he said. The progress of all is the progress of Telangana, he said.
