A 25-year-old man from Bengaluru was stabbed to death in front of his mother on Sunday night in Adugodi, Bengaluru. The incident occurred during the festivities for Lord Ganesh’s idol immersion following an altercation with a group over playing music. The altercation soon escalated and resulted in his death. According to police officials, eight individuals linked to the murder are already in police custody.
The victim has been identified as Srinivas, who worked as a delivery boy and was a resident of Adugodi, AK colony.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Sunday when Srinivas had an argument over playing loud music and dancing in front of his house. The gang, led by Vinay (one of the arrested individuals), took offence when Srinivas objected to the celebrations and stabbed him in a fit of rage, an officer told The Indian Express.
“Vinay and his friend had an argument with Srinivas, and neighbors and local residents intervened to defuse the situation. However, a few minutes later, Vinay returned with his friends to confront Srinivas for not allowing them to play the music and stabbed him with a dagger, despite Srinivas’ mother, Indira, trying to dissuade them,” said an officer.

Srinivas was declared dead upon reaching the hospital, according to the police. A case has been registered with charges of murder.
A police officer mentioned that the area had two gangs, and Srinivas’ gang had celebrated the Ganesh festival on September 10. Nevertheless, the groups did not have a history of rivalry, he added.
