In the early trends, the BJP has an edge in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, while Congress takes the lead in Telangana. As the Assembly results are being billed as a semi-final of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, all eyes are on the fight between the Congress and the BJP. 

While no data was forthcoming from the Election Commission, as per data available with a leading TV channel, BJP is leading on 138 seats in MP, 47 seats in Chhattisgarh and 107 in Rajasthan, while Congress is leading in 70 seats in Telangana.

Congress leading in Telangana

Congress takes massive lead in telangana as per the early trends and crosses the majority mark of 70. According to the data, the Congress was leading in 70 out of the 119 seats as per initial trends available from counting of votes polled in November 30 assembly elections, while ruling BRS was trailing behind. 

BJP ahead of Cong in early trends in Rajasthan

According to early Election Commission trends for the assembly polls in Rajasthan on Sunday, the BJP was ahead in 109 seats while the Congress was leading in 76. The data also stated that BSP and RLD were ahead in one seat each. 

Tight contest in Chhattisgarh

According to the early trends, BJP is leading in 47 seats in the state, while ruling Congress in 41 seats. The initial trend was released from counting of postal ballots in elections to the Chhattisgarh assembly.

As many as 1,181 candidates are in the fray, including Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Deputy Chief Minister T S Singh Deo (both from Congress) and former CM Raman Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

BJP takes comfortable lead in Madhya Pradesh

The ruling BJP was ahead in 153 seats and the Congress 75 in seats as per trends available from counting of postal ballots in elections to the Madhya Pradesh assembly.

Counting for the elections to the 230-member House, held on November 17, began at 8 am on Sunday, a poll official said.
