Political strategist Prashant Kishor on Thursday reacted to a video which has now gone viral where he can be seen in a heated exchange with a journalist over poll prediction. In the video, Thapar questioned Kishor’s 2022 prediction of Himachal Pradesh elections and also of Telangana poll that was held last year. However, a visibly angry Kishor said that he had not said that Congress will suffer a rout and asked for a video proof.
In the video, he can be heard saying, “Show me a video of me telling Congress will be routed in Himachal Pradesh, I will quit the job”. The political strategist can also be seen sipping water during the interview with journalist Karan Thapar. As the video went viral, Kishor said, “Drinking water is good as it keeps both mind and body hydrated. Those who are RATTLED with my assessment of outcome of this election must keep plenty of water handy on June 4th.”
He further cited his past prediction on the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress sweeping the West Bengal Assembly elections that was held in 2021. Notably, Kishor managed the TMC’s campaign during the 2021 polls, and the TMC had won baggin 215 out of the 294 seats.
“PS: Remember, May 2, 2021, and West Bengal!!” he tweeted.
Kishor, in a post on X, had said, “I’ve been repeatedly asked to comment on the outcome of #UdaipurChintanShivir. In my view, it failed to achieve anything meaningful other than prolonging the status-quo and giving some time to the #Congress leadership, at least till the impending electoral rout in Gujarat and HP!”
The post is from May 20, 2022.
Netizens were quick to comment on the old post. One wrote, “So as per what you committed on Karan Thapars interview, now you must resign and retire. this is the tweet /proof you were asking him. you clearly said Congress will be routed in HP. also said same about Telangana. So now resign! (sic)”
During the interview to media outlet Wire, Kishor also said that the BJP will get 300 seats like 2019, and possibly 5-15 more seats, while the Congress won’t be able to get even 100 seats.
