Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav recently roped in creator of the Cricket World Cup 2011 anthem ‘De Ghuma Ke’ and songwriter for movies like ‘Raees’ and ‘Piku’, Manoj Yadav to write the campaign song and slogans for Samajwadi Party in the run up to the upcoming polls. In past, Manoj had also written campaign song ‘Man se Mulayam’ for then party president Mulayam Singh Yadav during the 2014 elections.

Taking to Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar, Manoj said that he is a big admirer of Akhilesh Yadav and believes that he has made politics very polite and this is why today’s youth do not fear from stepping into politics. The renowned Bollywood lyricist further said that when he first met Akhilesh, he was asked not to write something very glamorous or spicy, instead it should be connected to the people and should talk about Neta Ji (Mulayam Singh Yadav).

When asked about whether his association with SP is only till 2017 elections or will continue to 2019, Manoj said that currently the focus is to once again make Akhilesh Yadav the chief minister and if given a chance during 2019 elections, he would surely come back.

The ‘Piku’ songwriter also said that Akhilesh Yadav is a very polite person. For him he is not a politician, but a ‘politecian’. When asked about the idea and source behind making the ‘kaam bolta hai’ song, he said, “When I met Akhilesh, he asked me to prepare something with less words and more talks. Thus, I clubbed all his agendas together and created this song and he liked it.”
