TVS Motor chairman Sudarshan Venu said a collaboration between India and Africa in the era of globalisation has vast potential.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the 20th CII India Africa Business Conclave in New Delhi, Venu pointed to Africa’s consumer and infrastructure opportunities, backed by growing investments in artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare, and fintech.“The focus should be on leveraging these synergies by not just serving consumers, but by driving deeper social and economic engagement,” he said.

Building deeper engagement beyond transactions

Chairing the conclave, Venu stressed the importance of value creation, customer connect, quality, and local customisation as the pillars of successful partnerships. He called on businesses from both regions to forge long-term collaborations that go beyond transactions and foster sustainable growth.

TVS Motor’s success as a blueprint for expansion

Venu has played a key role in driving TVS Motor’s international expansion, including into African markets. “TVS Motor has been powering mobility in Africa for more than 20 years now, and we remain committed to investing in and harnessing the immense potential of the continent,” he said. In FY25, TVS Motor’s two-wheeler exports rose 22.8% to 1.09 million units, led by strong demand from Africa and Latin America.
