At-home salon platform YesMadam has introduced a 0% commission model for its top-performing service professionals. The company will no longer take a commission from earnings of select gig workers who meet internal performance criteria.

The announcement was made by co-founder and CEO Mayank Arya through a LinkedIn post, following a meeting with service partners in Delhi. The platform had previously reduced commissions from 20% to 15%, and then to 8%, over the past few years.

YesMadam operates on a bootstrapped model and claims the decision was based on internal feedback and stories shared by workers. The company has not disclosed how many professionals qualify for the commission waiver or what specific metrics define “top performance.”

The move comes amid broader discussions about income security and platform economics in India’s growing gig workforce.

“At YesMadam, we’ve always believed our service professionals are the backbone of everything we do. Their stories of grit and perseverance moved us deeply. When we heard them speak at the celebration lunch, we knew applause wasn’t enough. Introducing a 0% commission model is our way of offering not just respect, but real financial freedom – a step toward rewriting the rules of how the gig economy values its people,” Mayank Arya, co-founder and CEO, YesMadam said.

“At YesMadam, listening isn’t just a value, it’s the foundation of everything we do. Whether it’s our customers, team, or service partners, every voice matters. Our 0% commission model is a direct result of that mindset. It’s more than a business decision, it’s about turning care into policy. By giving our top-performing service partners complete financial freedom, we’re not just recognizing their contribution, we’re setting a new, empathetic benchmark for the gig economy,” Akanksha Vishnoi, Co-founder & CMO of YesMadam, added.
