UrbanPiper, a restaurant technology platform backed by Zomato and Swiggy, claims it will increase its presence in the U.S. by 10 times by 2027. This goal follows its acquisition of U.S.-based Ordermark in 2023 and the rebranding of ‘Ordermark by UrbanPiper’ to ‘UrbanPiper.’

Founded in 2016, UrbanPiper serves over 45,000 restaurants across 30 countries, providing technology solutions to streamline operations and manage online orders and delivery platforms. Its clientele includes global chains such as McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, and Subway, as well as Indian brands like Curefoods, Wow! Momo, and Haldiram’s.

“UrbanPiper is built by a team that truly cares about the unique challenges faced by restaurant owners,” said Ashish Saxena, President of UrbanPiper. “With the official launch of the UrbanPiper platform in the U.S., which is one of our key focus markets, we are aiming for 10x growth over the next three years. As a homegrown company, it fills me with immense pride to see our vision make an impact on the global stage, empowering restaurants to scale and thrive in an ever-evolving industry.”

Reportedly, UrbanPiper processes approximately 8 lakh food delivery orders daily in India, accounting for over 20% of the country’s online orders. The company’s U.S. operations currently support 5,000 restaurants, and it aims to expand this number to 50,000 by 2027.

In 2022, UrbanPiper raised $24 million in Series B funding from Peak XV, Tiger Global, Zomato, and Swiggy. These funds are intended for global expansion and to enhance the platform’s features.

The platform integrates with over 50 delivery platforms and more than 350 point-of-sale systems, reporting 99.99% API uptime. UrbanPiper continues to strengthen its global presence through these technological advancements.
