Omnicom Advertising Group has named Sean Donovan as the president of its Asia division. It is understood that Donovan steps into the role following his tenure as president of TBWA\Worldwide’s Asia operations, where he spent more than five years leading the network through periods of growth and challenge.
In his new role, Donovan will report to OAG’s global CEO, Troy Ruhanen, and collaborate with leaders across Omnicom’s extensive agency networks.
“I am beyond happy that my journey continues with all the pirates and clients of TBWA\Asia in this new role,” he wrote. While acknowledging the challenges posed by the pandemic, Donovan highlighted the resilience and accomplishments of his team, adding, “It has been, and will continue to be, a blast.” Donovan commented through a LinkedIn post.
According to the company, Donovan brings extensive industry expertise to OAG, having held leadership positions across various markets. Prior to his role at TBWA\Worldwide, he served as group CEO of TBWA\South Africa and managing director at TBWA\Hunt Lascaris. He also co-founded OpenCo, a South Africa-based agency later acquired by TBWA in 2013, further cementing his track record of innovation and leadership in the advertising industry.
