Weekends are all about down time. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web-series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Atul Gupta, co-founder and director, e-Sprinto, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
When I’m not working, one of my favourite pastimes is watching cricket. The excitement of the game, the skilful manoeuvres of the players, and the sense of camaraderie among fans create a thrilling experience. Whether it’s the elegance of a perfectly timed cover drive, the thrill of a close match, or the joy of celebrating a wicket, cricket offers moments of pure joy and entertainment. It’s a sport that transcends boundaries, bringing people together from all walks of life to share in the passion for this beloved game.
How do you spend your weekends?
On weekends, I like to enjoy a balanced mix of activities. I relish spending quality time with my family, especially my granddaughter, creating precious memories that warm the heart. To break free from the usual routine, I also engage in friendly games of cricket with my pals, which not only keeps me on my toes but also deepens the bonds we’ve forged over the decades.
What are your favourite gadgets?
I’m not particularly a gadget enthusiast, but if I had to choose, my favourite would be my phone. It’s a versatile tool that keeps me connected, informed, and organised. With its wide array of functions, it serves as a hub for communication, entertainment, and productivity. While I appreciate the convenience and capabilities of other gadgets, my phone remains my go-to device for its essential role in my daily life.
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
Having dedicated my entire life to the 2-wheeler industry, it’s clear that my passion lies firmly in the world of scooters and motorcycles. However, if not in the automotive sector, my heart leans towards something related to cricket. The sportsmanship, the electrifying atmosphere of a match, and the joy it brings to millions of fans has always held a special allure for me. It’s a field I’d eagerly embrace if not for my enduring love affair with two-wheelers.
Which is your favourite vacation spot?
My wife and I have a strong affinity for Switzerland as our favourite vacation spot. We’ve been fortunate to visit this picturesque country several times, and its landscapes, from the Alps to serene lakes, always leave us in awe. Whether it’s exploring charming villages, enjoying outdoor adventures, or simply savouring Swiss chocolate, every activity in Switzerland is a delightful experience.
A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching.
I am not a TV show fan, but when it comes to movies, I highly recommend “3 Idiots.” This film masterfully combines humour with thought-provoking messages, making it a must-watch. It not only entertains but also addresses significant societal and educational issues, emphasizing the importance of pursuing one’s true passion rather than conforming to societal expectations. “3 Idiots” showcases the power of friendship, the pursuit of excellence, and the need to challenge conventional norms. With its stellar cast and compelling storytelling, it’s a movie that leaves a lasting impact while offering a dose of laughter and inspiration.
