The Job

There are a lot of aspects to my job — technical, creative, marketing, and logistics that need to be performed on an everyday basis. I would like to admit, it does get repetitive and exhausting at times. However, the part that I really look forward to is the creative aspect. It could be brainstorming ideas for new design collections, planning content for our social media feed, or working on new product launches. It sort of gives me a break from the more mundane tasks.

The Weekdays

Typical weekdays are usually hectic. I wake up at around 7 am and by 8 I’m at the gym. After breakfast, I like to wrap up most of my routine calls and emails. At office, I usually start by checking in on the technical backend and order the processing team to see if everything is going smoothly. Then onwards to the creative team to plan the week’s social media content and new design launches. The rest of the day is more sporadic.

The Weekend

Since we are an early-stage start-up in our growth phase, my team and I usually work on Saturdays too. Later, I might meet up with some friends and go for a nice dinner or some drinks. I might also just stay in to spend some time with my family. On Sundays, I try to maintain a no-screen time rule. I consciously make an effort to not do anything work-related unless absolutely necessary. It is important to have at least one complete day off to rejuvenate the mind and body.

The Toys

I’m not a huge gadget freak and I really don’t keep up with technological trends — except new Apple product launches since that is part of my job. I only just purchased an iPhone 14 Pro after years of using an iPhone X, not out of desire but out of necessity. That being said, I recently purchased a Chromecast for my TV on the recommendation of a friend and it’s been a total game-changer. It makes streaming music and films directly from your mobile apps to your TV super convenient.

The Logos

Back in college I was a total brand freak and used to follow new and upcoming lifestyle and clothing labels. But now when I come to think about it, I can’t remember any at the top of my head. My mom recently gifted me a pair of Sebago loafers which she got from London. I am kind of hooked on them because of how comfortable they are and how easily they can be paired with a lot of outfits. I am also recently enjoying wearing athleisure from this NYC label called Outdoor Voices.
