Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has redesignated its chairman Siddhartha Mohanty as chief executive officer and managing director with effect from June 30.
In a regulatory filing, the state-owned life insurer said, “Siddhartha Mohanty, the incumbent chairperson, shall be the chief executive officer and managing director of the corporation effective from June 30.”
Mohanty took charge as the chairperson of LIC in April 2023. Prior to that, he was the managing director of the company.
A Postgraduate with a Masters Degree in Arts in Political Science, Mohanty joined the insurance giant as an apprentice officer in 1985. In a career spanning four decades with LIC, Mohanty has held several key positions including that of executive director (Legal) and CEO of LIC Housing Finance, Sr divisional manager in charge, regional manager of Marketing Vertical, chief of investment, monitoring & accounting to name a few.
