Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the transformative impact of the upcoming Noida International Airport, on Monday. He emphasized how it will significantly boost connectivity and improve the ease of living for the National Capital Region (NCR) and Uttar Pradesh residents.

Responding to a post by Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, PM Modi asserted his government’s dedication to creating world-class infrastructure and utilizing connectivity for bringing growth and prosperity. Naidu had informed about the successful first test flight landing at the Noida International Airport, marking a major achievement in its development.

Naidu mentioned, ‘’Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and the guidance of UP’s Chief Minister Adityanath Ji, this airport will transform regional connectivity and play a crucial role in the development of India’s aviation sector.’’

Milestone achieved with test flight validation

The validation flight was successfully completed on Monday, showcasing an Airbus A320 operated by Indigo. The aircraft received a grand welcome with a water cannon salute upon landing at the state-of-the-art greenfield facility in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar, approximately 75 kilometers from Delhi. This development placed the airport as NCR’s second international hub, after Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The airport has been built under a joint mentorship of the public-private model. It is led by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited which is a division of Zurich International Airport AG for the Uttar Pradesh government. Validation of flights is considered to be a major step in the aerodrome licensing process as it ensures that the airport has cleared all the essential regulatory norms, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
