Kia is all geared up for launching its next model in India called Syros. To be slotted in between Sonet and Seltos in the company’s lineup, the Syros will potentially create a new segment of SUVs/crossovers in the Indian market. Earlier rumoured to be called Clavis, test mules of the compact SUV have been spotted on numerous occasions over the past one year.
The South Korean carmaker has shared multiple teasers of the Syros on social media ahead of its debut recently. Kia has released another teaser video of the upcoming compact SUV on its social media handles and YouTube channel. The latest teaser shares glimpses of what’s offered inside the cabin of Syros for the first time.
Kia Syros interiors teased
The short 42 second teaser reveals some significant details about the Syros. This is the first instance where we get a clear view of the panoramic sunroof in Syros. Inside the cabin, the push button engine start/stop is located in the centre console along with the gear lever, electronic parking button, and a wireless charging bay. The dashboard gets ambient lighting, a floating touchscreen, and a newly designed steering wheel.

The steering wheel features an off-set Kia logo, multifunction switches and a Terrain Mode selector. Although the instrument cluster is not visible in the teaser, we expect it to be an all-digital unit similar to the one in Sonet and Seltos. Other anticipated features include LED lighting, an electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera, automatic wipers, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a premium audio system.
Kia Syros exterior highlights
Previous teasers have shared glimpses of the Kia Syros’ exterior which gets vertically-stacked LED headlamps flanked by sleek L-shaped LED DRLs, and a muscular front bumper with large air intakes up front.Up front, prominent L-shaped LED DRLs on the side of the bumper and large air intakes create a bold look. Functional roof rails and dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels enhance the SUV’s stance.

Although dimensions of Syros will be compact, the squarish, flared-up wheel arches along with sharp cuts and creases will lend the car a muscular appearance. Rear end of Syros is sleek, featuring L-shaped LED taillights integrated into the D-pillars, a flat tailgate, and rear bumper reflectors.
Kia Syros expected powertrain
The Kia Syros is expected to offer two engine options: a 1.5-liter diesel and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol. The diesel engine, shared with models like Sonet, Seltos, and Creta, produces 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The turbo-petrol engine, found in Sonet, Venue, and Verna, delivers 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque.
The Syros diesel will have you covered with a 6-speed manual or a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, just like the Sonet. The Syros petrol, on the other hand, will offer a 6-speed manual or a quick-shifting 7-speed DCT automatic. Unlike the Sonet, the Syros won’t come with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine.
